Afraid of heights?

Susan Campbell

Mar 18, 2008

Saturday was a gorgeous morning, sunny and just cool enough and the Network of Enterprising Women volunteers were out in full force.  Bill, the supervisor, let us know that our goal was to get the roof, windows and doors done because rain was coming that night.  So Bill’s first question was “Who’s afraid of heights?“

Those of us willing to go onto the roof took hammers, roofing nails and shingles and headed up the scaffolding.  The sound of hammering began right away and was constant throughout the morning and afternoon.  The rest of us began preparing to set the windows and putting in the extra blocking needed in the walls.  Because of a need in the family, this house will be completely handicap-accessible and the extra blocking will make that possible.
